Halifax County offers access to the latest medical technologies and highly skilled specialists to provide first class health and medical care.

Halifax Regional Medical Center (HRMC)
Halifax Regional Medical Center is located in Roanoke Rapids with 204 beds and over 1,000 medical professionals. HRMC offers comprehensive medical and surgical services and state-of-the-art facilities. HRMC's staff of 60 physicians represents most medical specialties. Other specialized treatment options are available through HRMC's affiliations with major medical centers, including Pitt County Memorial Hospital, WakeMed, UNC Hospitals, and Duke Medical Center.

In addition to the services in the main hospital, Halifax Regional offers several health care services in the Roanoke Valley.

• Halifax Works - An occupational health service staffed by a Physician Assistant, an Occupational Health Nurse and two Occupational Health Assistants. Halifax Works provides drug and breath alcohol testing, physicals, vaccinations, TB screening, hearing testing, pulmonary function evaluations, respirator fitting and workers compensation injury treatment. Halifax Works is also able to customize its services and physicals to the meet needs of most companies. Halifax Works makes every effort expedite the safe and healthy return of employees while providing a cost effective health care option to employers.
  
  
• Roanoke Clinic - Family medical clinic with three physicians, three nurse practitioners and a number of skilled dedicated nurses to care for family health needs. Health services provided includes general health care, immunizations, chronic care, laboratory testing and women’s health. Roanoke Clinic also offers allergy testing and shots; education and treatment for diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
  
  
• Roanoke Valley Medical Ministries Clinic - Works to help people in the Roanoke Valley who do not have health insurance and have limited financial resources.  The physicians volunteering at the RVMMC provide basic medical care and assist patients with getting the necessary medicine to help promote wellness. For people who are eligible, all of the services at the RVMMC are free.
  
  
• Wildwood Medical Clinic - A family medical clinic located near Lake Gaston and is staffed by a board certified family practitioner and a general nurse practitioner.  Services offered at Wildwood Medical Clinic include general wellness, immunizations, sick care, laboratory testing, chronic illness maintenance, and minor emergency care to the patients of the Lake Gaston area.

Our Community Hospital, a Critical Access Hopsital, is located in Scotland Neck. Other health care options include nursing and elder care facilities, specialized private practices and clinics, as well as services offered by the Halifax County Health Department.
