Existing businesses that have created jobs and made capital investments in Halifax County are the foundation of the local economy. Our existing businesses have a deep stake in our community and contribute to the economic vitality and social fabric of Halifax County and our communities every day. The Halifax County Economic Development Commission (HCEDC) has an established Business Retention and Expansion Program that supports the growth and success of existing companies throughout Halifax County. Our on-site visitation program is a key component and we invite you to participate. HCEDC’s goal is to connect existing businesses with information, resources, and programs in ways that will improve the overall business climate and stimulate opportunities for growth.

For businesses that need assistance with workforce development, upgrading internal operations or processes during expansions, exploring the possibility of exports to foreign markets, or looking for project financing, the Halifax County Economic Development Commission is your single point of contact. We can help you leverage state and federal resources to address a number of needs, such as infrastructure expansion, machinery and equipment purchases and connect you to the resources you need to support your business retention and growth.
