Roadshow Highlights Halifax County’s Economic Assets

Halifax County commissioners, economic development board members, and other county leaders gathered for the second annual Economic Development Roadshow. This event showcased the collaborative efforts driving growth and prosperity in our community.  The group toured the Airboss Rubber Compounding plant in Scotland Neck and experienced firsthand the processes involved in producing essential components for fire hoses, automotive tires, and windshield wiper blades, just a few of the products the company manufactures. Airboss has continued to grow and expand in Halifax County, contributing significantly to the area’s economy.

The tour continued with visits to two new businesses that are making a big impact in Scotland Neck, the Roanoke Steakhouse and Seven Scoops Café, and a windshield tour of other economic assets, including Josey Lumber, Edwards Cotton Company, and Sylvan Heights Bird Park.  The day ended with a visit to the Halifax Corporate Park on NC Highway 561, which is the location for a proposed 40,000-square-foot shell industrial building.

“Each asset we visited highlighted the diverse economic landscape in Halifax County,” commented Vernon Bryant, Chairman of the Halifax County Board of Commissioners. “It is truly inspiring to see firsthand the fruits of collaboration  among our partners.”

The Economic Development Roadshow exemplifies the tangible outcomes that can be achieved through collaboration and a shared vision. As Halifax County continues to grow, events like the Roadshow play a crucial role in highlighting our successes and paving the way for future development.
