Halifax County is advancing its economic future with a $3 million investment to prepare the US 301 Industrial Site for large-scale projects. The funding includes a $2.35 million grant from the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina Selectsite Readiness Program and $650,000 in matching funds from the NC Department of Transportation.
“We are grateful for the state’s confidence in our economic development efforts and vision for this site,” said Cathy Scott, Director of Economic Development for Halifax County. “This investment strengthens our ability to compete for next-generation jobs and investment.”
Established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 2023, the SelectSite Readiness Program helps communities prepare mid-sized industrial properties for high-impact projects. Funds can support grading, clearing, infrastructure, and engineering improvements—essential steps in creating a shovel-ready site to meet the needs of modern industry.
