Halifax Horizons Honors Ben White

Halifax County Business Horizons, Inc. recently honored Ben White of Smurfit WestRock for his dedicated service as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. White, who is retiring from his position as Mill Manager, received a plaque of appreciation in recognition of his leadership and commitment to advancing economic development in Halifax County.

In accepting the award, White expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve. “It has been an honor to serve alongside such committed individuals, working toward the growth and success of our community,” he said.

Board President Scott Aman commended White’s contributions, noting, “Ben’s thoughtful leadership and steady commitment have made a lasting difference for Halifax Horizons and for Halifax County. Ben was our forest products expert whom we relied on regularly.” Aman added, “His voice at the table will be missed.”

White’s career spans 36 years at Smurfit WestRock and its predecessor companies, a notable tenure that reflects his dedication to the industry and the community.
