At their June meeting, the Halifax County Board of Commissioners officially approved the County’s participation in the North Carolina Commercial Property Assessed Capital Expenditure Program, commonly known as C-PACE.
C-PACE is a voluntary program that gives eligible commercial, industrial, agricultural, nonprofit, and multifamily property owners access to private financing for qualified building and property improvements. These may include energy efficiency upgrades, renewable energy, water conservation, resiliency improvements, and safe drinking water projects.
For Halifax County businesses, the program creates another option to help finance meaningful improvements that can reduce operating costs, strengthen facilities, and support long-term investment.
Participation does not require the County to provide financing, use public funds, or pledge or encumber its full faith and credit in connection with C-PACE financing.
By joining the statewide C-PACE Program, Halifax County is adding another practical tool to encourage private investment and support property owners who are looking to improve, modernize, or reinvest in their facilities.
