Halifax Community College Hosts HIRED Career Fair

Businesses, government organizations, law enforcement, health agencies and others were on hand for the HIRED (Helping Individuals Reach Employment Destinations) Career Fair at Halifax Community College (HCC) on March 19.

A resounding success, the event focused on connecting students and job seekers with employers and service organizations to provide career pathways, opportunities for internships, and knowledge about gainful employment opportunities in their backyard. Participants had the chance to engage with emerging talent and highlight Halifax County’s dynamic and thriving business and service community.

Barbara Plum, HCC’s Director of Counseling and Career Services, commented, “The HIRED Career Fair accomplished our major goal for this event–to connect the next generation of talent with employment opportunities and stimulate career exploration. This is critically important to building a pipeline of workers to meet the future job needs.”

The Halifax County Economic Development Commission cosponsored the HIRED Career Fair.
