Premier Boulevard Extension Nearing Completion

Work continues on the extension of Premier Boulevard and multi-laning of NC Highway 125 in Roanoke Rapids. This $24.5 million project is being constructed by W.C. English, Inc. of Lynchburg, Virginia. According to North Carolina Department of Transportation officials, the Premier Boulevard extension portion of the project will be completed this fall with the Highway 125 improvements slated for completion in fall of 2021. The Premier Boulevard extension will parallel Interstate 95 to NC Highway 125 at a new signaled intersection aligned with Three Bridges Road. American Legion Road will be extended to Highway 125 to the new portion of Premier Boulevard.

These transportation projects will greatly improve mobility, reduce congestion and improve highway access for residents and businesses. The extension of Premier Boulevard will connect Exits 173 and 171, open up new land for business development, and accommodate future traffic growth.
