DEDICATION HELD FOR PREMIER BLVD EXTENSION & NC HIGHWAY 125

Friday, June 10, 2022 marked the successful completion and official opening of a project that is long-time in the making–the extension of Premier Boulevard and four-laning of NC Highway 125 in Roanoke Rapids. The Highway 125 improvements were touted by NCDOT to reduce congestion and improve highway access. The extension of Premier Boulevard was to  promote economic development and improve mobility according to NCDOT’s official notice regarding the project back in 2017.   The Highway 125 improvements are extremely important and one of the most highly anticipated projects for this area.   One of the most important benefits of the Premier Boulevard extension is that it will connect Interstate 95 Exits 171 and 173.  Also, this extension opens hundreds of acres of land for retail, commercial and residential development.  The extension will also provide additional traffic and more visibility for existing businesses along NC 125 and Premier Boulevard Extension and help us attract even more visitors off the interstate.  And now, NC Highway 125 will be four-laned from Old Farm Road to Interstate 95 and provide a boost for properties along this corridor. We look forward to the future economic benefits these highway improvements will bring.
