Stella-Jones, Inc., North America’s leading supplier of pressure-treated wood products, is well underway in the construction of a new $9.5 million utility pole production facility south of Enfield just off US Highway 301. This project will enhance the company’s production capabilities and create ten new jobs, offering valuable employment opportunities for Enfield and Halifax County.
“We recognize the value of our strong wood basket and forest products supply chain as catalysts for economic development,” commented Cathy Scott, Executive Director of the Halifax County Economic Development Commission. “Stella-Jones’ investment not only highlights the strategic advantages of our natural resources, but also the importance of the forest products industry in stimulating economic growth within our community.”
The project is being enhanced further by the replacement of a 60-year-old water line to accommodate the company’s new rail spur, a project supported by $125,185 in NC Commerce funding approved by the NC Rural Infrastructure Authority in April.
