GROUNDBREAKING SCHEDULED FOR MARRIOTT HOTEL AT EXIT 173

A groundbreaking has been scheduled on January 26, 2023 at 11 a.m. for the Fairfield Marriott to be located at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Julian Allsbrook Highway in Weldon. According to Vish Pathak, Chief Executive Officer of Carolina Star Hotels, the 96-room hotel will serve the area’s growing business and leisure traveler’s needs. 

The I-95 Exit 173 site is a 13.7-acre prime commercial site with high visibility along Interstate 95 that was once the location of the former Interstate Inn.  The new hotel project will encompass 2.045 acres and is expected to stimulate other business opportunities at the site.
