Weldon Steel Corporation, a structural steel fabrication company, has purchased the former Basnight Building located at US 301 in Weldon, NC. The 18,800 square foot facility sits on 6.21 acres and was previously owned by the Town of Weldon.
The NC Rural Infrastructure Authority recently approved a $60,000 Building Reuse Grant to the Town of Weldon on behalf of Weldon Steel. These funds will pay for 50% of the cost of electrical improvements at the new location, estimated at $120,000. Weldon Steel will invest $1.57 million in real estate and equipment and create 10 new jobs as a result of this expansion project.
